Department of OBGYN

Outpatient Clinical Experience

Exciting changes are happening in the outpatient OB/GYN resident education at UPMC Magee-Womens Hospital!

Starting in January 2024, all of the generalist OB/GYN academic faculty practices will join together to form a new practice called University Obstetrics and Gynecology (UOG).   These faculty groups share a passion for excellent healthcare, an appreciation of teamwork, a desire to lead the next generation of healthcare providers, and a commitment to improving health and health equity in our Pittsburgh communities.

University Obstetrics and Gynecology will provide generalist OB/GYN care with office locations at UPMC Magee-Womens Hospital as well as multiple locations throughout the Pittsburgh community.

For your outpatient clinical experience during residency, you will work alongside University Obstetrics and Gynecology (UOG) faculty in the outpatient setting at our Magee location.  Our faculty and residents are grouped into a team structure to facilitate continuity with patients as well as to enhance resident education and longitudinal mentorship.  The majority of our generalist OB/GYN faculty also provide inpatient obstetric and/or gynecologic care facilitating continuity for patients and providers between the inpatient and outpatient setting.

Additionally, we are a Title X facility and serve a diverse population of patients in the Pittsburgh community with multiple resources to assist patients with their clinical needs including access to social workers, behavioral health providers, childcare services, translators, financial counselors, doulas, and lactation consultants.

We are so excited about these upcoming changes, and we look forward to you being an integral part of our success and improvement of the resident outpatient clinical experience and our patients’ experience.
