A Message from the Chair
On behalf of our faculty and staff, welcome to the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Sciences at the University of Pittsburgh! We take great pride in our delivery of clinical excellence, robust research program, and long-standing commitment to educating and training emerging young professionals to deliver compassionate, high-quality care and serve as leaders within their chosen fields.
Centered at UPMC of Magee-Womens Hospital – ranked one of the nation's top hospitals specializing in gynecology - our clinical program continues to expand our reach and even wider geographic range to now serve Western, Central, and select regions of Northern Pennsylvania. Our highly accomplished department faculty is devoted to the investigation of the full spectrum of diseases associated with the health of women and infants and is equally dedicated to translating these clinical and basic scientific findings into new clinical applications. Our collaborative efforts with the group of world-renowned scientists at Magee-Womens Research Institute further enrich our groundbreaking investigative endeavors and allow us to bring innovative surgical and medical approaches to patient care.
As a department, we have committed ourselves to educate and provide care with an eye toward diversity and inclusion priorities. We actively strive to recruit and retain providers and trainees that reflect the diverse population of patients we care for as part of our community-focused mission.
