Wellness and Resident Life

In 2011, resident leaders and program leadership established the Resident Life Committee.  This committee was formed to foster a sense of community outside of the workplace by providing fun and creative outlets for everyone.  Annual social events include the Intern Welcoming Picnic, Intern Retreat, Holiday Party, and Spring Fling.  In addition, monthly pop-up events are conducted at various venues throughout the city.  Our residents have even found creative ways to continue this initiative during the COVID-19 pandemic all the while practicing social distancing guidelines.  Members of the committee advocate for resident benefits at the program, hospital, and institutional levels.

To further provide residents wellness in professional, physical, psychological, and social domains, the Resident Wellness Committee was established in 2017.  One of the initiatives of this committee is to participate in the annual ACOG Junior Fellow National Wellness Week in the spring which emphasizes daily wellness pillars (physical, environmental, spiritual/mindful, emotional/intellectual, and social wellness).
