The University Obstetrics and Gynecology Group (UOG) provides full-scope OBGYN care both inpatient and outpatient. While in the labor suite, we provide our students training in obstetric triage, management of normal and abnormal labor, and operative obstetrics. In the office, we work hand in hand to teach the residents and students while providing world-class care to our patients. In the operating room, we train the residents in the full scope of surgery performed by a generalist OBGYN, including laparoscopy and robotic surgical training.
Our physicians have a variety of clinical appointments, including hospitalists (who specialize in the care of inpatient obstetric patients), generalists (who practice full-scope OB/GYN in the inpatient and outpatient setting), and physician-researchers who help guide residents in scholarly efforts. Residents can expect to work with all members of our division during their training at UPMC Magee-Womens Hospital. The group also works closely to mentor our residents through formalized mentoring and longitudinal curriculum and we are heavily invested in their growth and development.
