Meet Our Faculty and Fellows
 

The Division of Maternal-Fetal Medicine is dedicated to providing compassionate, evidence-based obstetrical care for women with complicated pregnancies in conjunction with their obstetrical providers. The division provides full antenatal care, as well as consultative services for the greater Western Pennsylvania area.

We are at the forefront of innovative and high quality obstetrical care. Building on our extensive experience and research, our team of physicians offers consultation, evaluation and management for women with complex pregnancies. Our physicians are nationally recognized experts in:

  • Preterm Birth
  • Hypertensive diseases of pregnancy
  • Diabetes in pregnancy
  • Multiple gestations
  • Congenital anomalies
  • Fetal growth restriction
  • Abnormal placentation

Our physicians are leading innovative clinical and translational research to better understand and to improve the reproductive health of women. Areas of research include prevention of preterm birth, causes of fetal growth restriction, sleep disorders affecting pregnancy, pharmacology in pregnancy, prediction and treatment of preeclampsia, gestational diabetes screening strategies, patient-provider communications, and health services research.

The Maternal-Fetal Medicine Division is committed to training the future leaders in women’s health, playing key roles in educating students, residents, fellows and other students of the health sciences at the University of Pittsburgh.

Our physicians are based at Magee-Womens Hospital of UPMC and also welcome patients at offices across the greater Pittsburgh region. An active telemedicine practice also serves the referral area, allowing patients to have a consultation with our providers without traveling a great distance.
